| Introduction | The following beliefs are foundational to this blog and central to each of these writings: 1. The Bible is not the Word of God; Christians imbued with God's Spirit are; 2. The Bible is not a tool to be used to convert the world to Christianity; it is a collection of documents written and assembled by those inspired by God to share His message; 3. God's message is not about the Law; it is about grace and the sacrifice His Son made to free us from the Law we are each unable to keep; 4. God's message is not for Christians; it is for everyone; 5. Using the Bible to enforce a belief or view—or to align others to that point of view—is wrong; 6. The Church is not an institution; it is a collection of people aligned to a common God, belief and purpose; 7. The job of the Church is not to change or conform a society; it is to inspire and equip Christians for the service and worship of God together. Aligned to these beliefs, this blog is a collection of thoughts, observations and prayers for who are called followers of God: His Church. ■ |
