| Introduction | One day my brother called me a tree huger, and I started to argue then I realized he was right. It began as an argument on the cost effectiveness of Eco-Friendly or Green solutions and expanded from there. I do want green solutions, but not just for our children and grand-children. For me. I have a delicate respiratory system and have allergies to most cleaning products on the market. So "Green" cleaning supplies are less expensive, for me, even though they are mostly water, recycling can save as much energy in manufacturing as running your television for 4 hours. Not to mention my lungs say thank you to less carbon in my air, so less time out on FMLA and less money spent on doctors. That is more cost effective for me, so I say buy those hybrids and electric cars. Make your own cleaning supplies. My point is it depends on what you consider to be the expense. On purely subjective grounds I prefer to not miss work. And even if it doesn't matter to anyone else 'I' appreciate the little things that make the world a little less dirty. |
