| Introduction | I was raised going to a mainline denominational church where I attended Sunday School and Youth Group. I was very involved and even helped teach Sunday School. I thought I was a Christian and if I died I would go to heaven just because I believed. It wasn't until I started attending a neighborhood Bible Study after moving to NJ in 1974 that I heard about being "saved" and "being born again" and I learned from the Bible that I could have a personal relationship with God. Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with the living God. All I needed to do was to admit that I had sinned, believe that Jesus had died on the cross for my sins, repent (be sorry and turn from those sins) and receive Jesus into my heart as my personal savior. I did that in May 1975 and have been growing in that relationship ever since that day. God has blessed our family over the years and has guided us through many difficult decisions and times as well as the good times. My favorite verse is Romans 8:28 "All things work together for good to those who love God, to those called according to his purpose." |
