Introduction My 20-month-old son has not yet been diagnosed along the autism spectrum but has shown enough "red flags" to be involved in a study on the use of the Early Start Denver Model in children under two showing signs of autism. In T-Fap's case (T-Fap being an internet handle meaning "Thraesja's former abdominal parasite"), those "red flags" include a communication delay, less eye contact than is expected at his age, and a penchant for spinning things. T-Fap's strengths include a fantastic and frequent smile, a love of music, an excellent receptive vocabulary, an uncanny interest and ability to recognize letters and numbers, and a great (toddler) sense of humour. I'm just starting to explore what life may be like for T-Fap and for my husband and I should he eventually be diagnosed along the spectrum. This profile is mainly a place where I can collect the excellent blogs I've started stumbling across. I may eventually start a blog to solidify some of my thoughts, but for now I'm content to mostly lurk and absorb. Finally, a warning: My sense of humour can be a bit, um, different. If I've offended you in a comment I made, I hearby apologize.
