About me

Introduction Colleen O. James was born in Portland, Oregon, later matriculating there in 1987 as an R.N. She currently resides in Homer, Alaska, working as an on-call Forensic Nurse, responding statewide. Her responsibilities include membership on the Alaska Child-Death Review board and supervision of Forensic Nursing on the Kenai Peninsula, an expansive area encompassing 25,000 square miles, larger than some states. Here she recently developed an innovative “TeleHealth” program that is an image and speech-based, high-tech nurse training and examinations interface. She also lectures extensively on Forensic Nursing at the state, U.S. and International levels, speaking specifically on the SART-SANE program, which she introduced to Alaska. In off hours Colleen is an avid outdoors enthusiast and often goes cross country skiing, ski skating, and also hikes when weather permits.
