Introduction	I have an addiction. It’s legal, relatively wholesome, and only occasionally results in staying up until 2 a.m. whispering, “Just one more chapter.” I’m addicted to books. I love everything about them — the smell of a brand-new hardcover, the satisfying crack of a fresh spine, the weight of a story waiting in your hands. I was the kid with a flashlight under the covers, bargaining with sleep for five more pages. (Sleep rarely won.) Eventually, I traded the flashlight for a classroom and became an English teacher — which feels less like a career choice and more like destiny. Teaching let me multiply the joy: passing along stories, watching students fall into fictional worlds, and pretending not to notice when they were up too late reading, too. Now I’m a mom, a wife, and still very much a book fanatic. I may sacrifice sleep, prune in the bathtub mid-chapter, and absolutely judge the movie by the book — but it’s a worthy obsession. And since every good addiction loves company… I’m passing it on to you.
