| Introduction | For years I have been working on myself to become a better person by accepting who I am. I used to feel like I am a small person trapped inside a fat body. I decided in June 2009 that I wanted the Roux-en-Y, so that I would be able to feel on the outside how I always felt on the inside. I am a mother of two boys, and I’m in a very happy and healthy relationship with the love of my life, my husband, Geoff. I love photography and the outdoors. This blog allowed me to share with you my journey during my weight loss, and not to mention the continuous journey that follows. I am a kind, loving and determined individual. My weight was an obvious and serious medical problem. I had my thyroid removed at the age of 14 years for Hyperthyroid Disease. I have now Hypothyroid Disease. I have tried many diets including Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, Slim Fast and Herbal Magic. None of these were successful in maintaining a healthy weight. Once off the products, I would re-gain the weight I had lost and gain much more. Roux-en-Y was definitely a good choice for me. |
