| Introduction | James R. Pearson is a Canadian watercolour artist who paints landscapes, barns, farms and grain elevators. He focused on numerous grain elevators in rural Alberta when it became obvious that the prairie landmarks were being demolished. Pearson also paints northern Canadian subjects and from time to time, flowers. His wife is urging him to start painting mountains so she can get away for numerous painting jaunts. According to Pearson, "Most of the paintings begin with a camera, an Olympus digital SLR. Then followes a number of thumbnail sketches, which are later worked into a detailed drawing that is transfered onto watercolour paper and presto, out comes a painting(it's not quite that easy) but as an artist I can fantasize," he said. |
