| Introduction | A liar and murderer, an adulterer and a glutton, a thief and a blasphemer. I was a wanderer, lost in a land that promised to quench the insatiable thirst for fulfillment, but instead I was offered distractions from the thirst, not a cure. My wandering only ended when the gracious merciful Christ invaded my heart and filled what had been empty. God's drawing me to Himself and revealing who He was, revealed who I was: one who despite my best efforts has a wicked heart bent on self exaltation and self gratification. How could I, now with knowledge of this magnificent God, not devote myself to my Creator, Savior, and Sustainer. Still, I know my devotion is, at some level, crippled by the battle raging against the wanderer within. Praise God that sanctification is ultimately a work of God and not in my own strength. I am humbled and honored that God has allowed me to marry a wonderful woman who He daily uses to teach me more about Christ's love for us. Her zeal for excellence is always an encouraging challenge to my sporadic carelessness. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be called her husband. This is me...a work in progress. |
