Introduction	Peter Morton Former Washington Bureau Chief Financial and National Post of Canada Mr. Morton is a veteran trade, economic and political reporter and columnist. Mr. Morton was the Washington Bureau Chief for The Financial Post, a position he held for 12 years. His coverage in Washington covered bilateral trade issues including softwood, agriculture and the Western Hemisphere Initiative. Prior to that, Mr. Morton was trade writer for the FP in Ottawa covering many of the same issues. He has extensive background in cross-border relations, both economic and political. Mr. Morton is a graduate of Ryerson University of Toronto in Journalism (1976). He was managing editor of the student newspaper, the Eyeopener, during the period. Mr. Morton has appeared frequently on both US and Canadian television and radio, as well as writes for a variety of American and Canadian newspapers and magazines.
