| Introduction | I'm vegan and live with my non-vegan young adult children. I don’t cook meat at all so feeding my extremely carnivorous son food he enjoys without compromising my own ethics can be challenging, in fact, feeding all of us what we like without cooking separately can be difficult – but we have plenty of favourites. When people ask me why I made the decision to stop eating meat, the answer is simple -it's because I can. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where I can make choices about this fundamental part of my life – what I eat - and can choose not to contribute to practices or support industries that I feel are inherently cruel. This decision came late in life so I'm not one to preach to others but being a librarian I'm happy (compelled?) to share information that might be useful to others. |
