IntroductionI am an educator, writer, and editor currently teaching English, humanities, and social sciences courses for the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) College of Liberal Arts in the Gender, Race, and Identity Program. From 2004-2016, I was a writer, editor, and project manager for the UNR Extended Studies Marketing Department, where I worked full-time before and after living in Chile in 2011-2012. In addition to telecommuting part-time as a writer and editor for Extended Studies from South America, I also taught English for two semesters at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso, Chile. Prior to joining the UNR, I worked as a journalist, writing and editing news stories and features for the Reno Gazette-Journal. I earned a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Nevada, Reno, where I was chosen for a graduate research assistantship in Victorian literature and graduated with a 4.0/4.0 GPA. I am currently nearing completion of a master of science degree in equity and diversity in education and a graduate certificate in TESOL through UNR’s College of Education.
