| Introduction | I am an educator, writer, and editor currently teaching English, humanities, and social sciences courses for the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) College of Liberal Arts in the Gender, Race, and Identity Program. From 2004-2016, I was a writer, editor, and project manager for the UNR Extended Studies Marketing Department, where I worked full-time before and after living in Chile in 2011-2012. In addition to telecommuting part-time as a writer and editor for Extended Studies from South America, I also taught English for two semesters at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María in Valparaíso, Chile. Prior to joining the UNR, I worked as a journalist, writing and editing news stories and features for the Reno Gazette-Journal. I earned a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Nevada, Reno, where I was chosen for a graduate research assistantship in Victorian literature and graduated with a 4.0/4.0 GPA. I am currently nearing completion of a master of science degree in equity and diversity in education and a graduate certificate in TESOL through UNR’s College of Education. |
