| Introduction | Mark, who originates from Great Britain, has made Lander, Wyoming his home since 2016. His interests focus on wilderness medicine, educational research, healthcare matters as well as mountain and ocean journeys, be that on skis or in a sea kayak. He was introduced to rock climbing amongst the Peak District outcrops near Sheffield, England and a school trip to North Wales in 1983 began his passion for paddle sports and mountaineering, which in turn sparked an interest in remote expeditions. This eventually led Mark to completing his doctorate (PhD) in leadership behavior. These opportunities also inspired his employment choices to become a qualified mountain guide, sea kayak instructor and outdoor education teacher in the UK. Now in the USA, Mark has redirected his career attention to become a full-time healthcare provider, enabling him to apply his natural traits as an empathetic caregiver. |
