| Introduction | Anna and I met in college. We would join the same sorority at the University of Missouri and go from acquaintances to roommates to friends. I think we both realized very quickly that we were different people, but with time we realized that we had a lot in common. Anna and I grew up in wildly different places – her, a small town, myself a big city – and after arriving to university would choose very different degrees. What we didn’t anticipate is that while in college, one of our close family members would be diagnosed with a mental illness. Anna’s family member bipolar and mine schizophrenic. Almost two years out of college and we’ve both decided to dedicate ourselves to the education and advocacy of mental health issues. Follow our blog. Read our articles and help to smash stigma. We encourage conversation, so please, feel free to contact us about any of the information you may read. |
