| Introduction | This page is ran by a solo volunteer. I started volunteering at local shelters when I was 16, only doing it some weekends. When I was almost done with my senior year in high school I started volunteering full time at Lauderdale Co. Shelter. I created a Facebook page, Humane Helpers, and took photos of the adoptable dogs each week and networked them to find homes or rescues. I have now moved farther away and am no longer able to physically go to the shelter but I continue to share photos and info about shelters all around West Tn. I am going through the legal process to be recognized as a state chartered non-profit. With this I will collect donations to run a grant to help enhance the lives of pets and their owners around the area. I plan to do this through offering to pay a percent of the spay/neuter cost, heart worm test, and up dating on shots. I also want to offer free grooming to pets that need it including nail trimming. |
