| Introduction | I am an Indian and I am a christian. A Christian -"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Bible I love my country and like to make a better place for poor and non-corrupt. I think that is what required of an India Professionally, I am Unix/Linux administrator. I started my career in 1998 as hardware/Unix /Windows admin and slowly specialised more in Unix/Linux OS adminstration. I worked with SCO Openserver, Xenix, UnixWare then worked some time with Solaris, Redhat Linux, Fedora, Open VMS, HP-UX and AIX. I even touched Irix and Digital Unix. I should admit that I did not know indepth of anything. Then past 4.5 years I worked mostly with AIX (5.1 & 5.3) and little bit of Solaris (9 & 10). Over all these years I dreamed to go back and continue exploring Linux and think more about IT in India and for India. That made me to think of an alternative which I work for now. Trying to create not-so-expensive but good quality hospital management software. Struggles of rural hospitals convinced me and my friends in this initiative to think of using Ubuntu Server for server version and desktop as client. |
