IntroductionOriginally, I developed this EXCEL macro for Diane Harmon-Hoog at DNAAdoption. She was working on a study and was anxious to be able to compare two spreadsheets with one file had about 4,200 matches and the other file had about 9,200 files, both from AncestryDNA. At first, the macro took several hours to accomplish this, but over time I improved it so it only took a few minutes and I decided to share this with the Genetic Genealogy Community. I have been interested in family history for many years and volunteered on the British Floor at the Family History Library for about 14 years, helping patrons research their ancestors. I have become interested in Genetic Genealogy and am grateful to have taken two Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy short courses as well as other presentations and the DNAAdoption course. My goal is to try and find ways to make it easier to quickly find atDNA matches you can investigate by contacting others and building trees. I hope this macro will be helpful to you and would appreciate your feedback on problems, areas that need further explanation or success stories on how the macro has helped you.
