About me

Location Brazil
Introduction On December 8, 2007 we received a call to serve as Mission President and Wife from President Thomas S. Monson. Later in February 2008, our assignment was issueed to serve in the Brazil Maceió Mission. As the events of this call unfolded, we wondered how we might fulfill such a responsibility for carrying forth the Lord´s gospel in Brazil. With great feelings of inadequacy and anticipation we committed our resources, time and talents to the Lord. We know the Lord provides and have prayed day by day for greater faith. We left behind our family of four kids, five grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. As a young missionary, Gary served in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro mission from 1974 - 76. His mission presidents were President Gustav Salik and Hélio Camargo. Although Maceió was part of his mission then, Gary never served in this area, but now considers this opportunity as another transfer, only later in life. Robyn has embraced this calling with all of her being. Although never having learned portuguese or any other foreign language, Robyn fulfills this calling through love and compassion while learning the communication skills of speaking portuguese.
