| Introduction | I have been beading 1yr. I have been in a deep black hole of depression past 2 yrs. I didn't leave my house for months at a time. Beading jewelry gave me a reason to wake up. About 3 mon. before I found Robin's book Beaded Treasure I had a yearning to bead on fabric but didn't know how to start. When I read about improvisional beading as a way to heal, I knew I had found hope again. I ordered the rest of her books & some beads & interleaven paper. A few days later I went to fabric store for fat 1/4's. I took her every word to heart about finishing the pieces = to quality of work & signed up for a quilting class. I inherited my mom's mint condition singer 500 series machine. I started 7/25/08 on my 1st BJP & plan to finish it this wkend.I can't describe the depth of my experiences while beading my BJP & I'm not through yet. Thx for sharing your experiences & awesomely beautiful work with me. You imparted hope to me thru your art. I pray my pieces will have the same effect on people. I'm blogging illiterate but I have quite a story to tell. Thanks for your time to read about me & share with me. Keep beadn' to the bone! Kathy |
