Introduction Born at an early age in UK England just after WWII, my first house was a farm labourer's cottage with no running water or electricity. At age 5 my family moved to a council housing estate of 40 houses . I was a sixer in the wolf cubs. I gained a scholarship to a posh school where I started a chess club. I skipped university and became first an accountant, and then a computer programmer. I opened a computer software company and ran it for ten years. I co-drove the winning car in the British Rally Championship- in two consecutive years with two different drivers. I completely renovated a 16 roomed Victorian house, including wiring and plumbing. I gained a Private Pilots License. Believing that there was more to life than money, I sold out and moved to South east Asia 30 years ago. I was landlord at an English style pub in Chiang Mai Thailand. I lived for five years with the Lahu tribe of Huay Nam Rin,Thailand. I produced a web site which sets out the things I discovered after leaving UK. I run a blog from time to time called Twas Meant To Be I am now retired and live in Vientiane, Laos with my Thai wife and daughter, 2 dogs and 17 cats.
