IntroductionI'm a freelance author, editor and proofreader living and working in rural Derbyshire. I correct errors in written texts for a (partial) living, but sometimes errors are beyond the reach of my trusty red pen - on signs, on restaurant menus, in published books, in leaflets and brochures... I can't correct these errors directly, or reach out and shake the person responsible until their teeth rattle, but they make me REALLY WILD. My long-suffering partner and children - in fact, almost anyone who has ever spent any time with me - will testify to my regular and blinding apostrophe rage, which often causes me to wail out loud and rant at length, and has occasionally resulting in random swerving across the road if I happen to be behind the wheel. I created this blog as a vent for these rants (and as a welcome relief for my near and dear - also to prevent accidents). I'll be fearlessly naming and shaming criminals against the English language - feel free to join in, sending pictures or examples of howlers which SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED, DAMMIT. I'll post them if you send them.
InterestsReading, writing, playing violin & recorder, sewing.
