| Introduction | Articles I write are to clarify what is in my own mind, not for any other reason. I write about anything which piques my interest at that time. One article may take several hours to write, it may take weeks. It is dependent on the complexity of the issue and the difficulty I have in understanding it. Writing is an exercise which organises my thoughts and directs my thinking. It costs nothing and it gives me great satisfaction. I research areas which are unfamiliar to me and in the process learn things I did not know. I want to investigate what is in my mind, and how it works. I want to find out who I am and what forces and influences have made me this way. Thus, I write primarily for myself. Why bother posting articles on a blog then? Well, the fact that a published article is available for the world to read imposes a discipline on me. I do not know who the reader will be and so I always try to write an article which is grammatically correct, balanced in opinion, and, hopefully, interesting to read. |
