| Introduction | Kewaunee is just south of Door County, Wisconsin, located 30 miles east of Green Bay and 30 miles south of Sturgeon Bay on the Door Peninsula. The verdant Kewaunee River valley, boater-friendly Kewaunee Harbor, and the sandy shores of Lake Michigan are among the natural features of this charming town. The site for our Inn has hosted public accommodations since 1858. The current Inn was built in 1913 and extensively renovated within the past decade. The Kewaunee Inn is located within Hamachek Village, historically a manufacturing district located at the confluence of the Kewaunee River and Lake Michigan. The many buildings of Hamachek Village are being adapted for reuse as an Artists Place of work. Already featured is an Artists Gallery and studio, an Artist In Residency (AIR) studio, a Wedding Chapel, and a performing arts center.
