| Introduction | I was born and raised in the beautiful Niagara Region of Ontario, where I had the opportunity to become involved in community service and programming for children with disabilities. Throughout my time in Secondary School I developed a keen interest in Science, Art and Engineering and exposure to the field of Prosthetics & Orthotics while traveling in New Zealand eventually lead me back to Toronto to pursue a career in the field. In May 2009 I graduated from the George Brown College P&O Technician program and since then have been employed by both the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton, Canada and Yorkhill Childrens Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland. I feel very privileged to have had these opportunities and hope to use the knowledge I've gained from them to contribute to rehabilitation efforts abroad. On August 31, I'll be going to Haiti to fill in for the Prosthetics Co-ordinator for 2 months. I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences! |
