| Introduction | This blog is just about my experiences and thoughts on growing up as a sibling of a type one diabetic, and the effects that linger..... My younger sister is a type one diabetic. I love her more than she will ever know. Life is teaching me that while there are many avenues for her to reach out for support as she deals with this chronic disease day in and day out, I haven't found anything close to that for myself: The sibling of the diabetic. As my sister says, it's a "family disease", but I haven't found a "peer group" to speak of. I am hoping to create one. |
