Introduction I grew up here, in a dell nestled above the Columbia River Gorge in White Salmon,WA. The woman who lived in the big house (a resort in 1920)on the bluff gave me tea, graham crackers, sometimes marbles. Amos Pearce owned the cherry orchard. The garden smelled of clover with rows of hollyhocks, roses, foxglove, lilacs and sweet peas. We rented the small house until we could move to town into a bigger place. The long and narrow road was called The Eyrie Road (eagles nest) and we knew it well; we walked to the school bus and home on it, we sledded down it. Since then I’ve lived in the Seattle area. There are still places to go and things to do. I raised two children alone. It was hard but I loved it. After a career with the Postal Service, I retired and now live on Whidbey Island. I like finding treasures amongst the junk, shades of cream and white and the color midnight blue. I like paper, antiques, lace, glass, silver and rustic things that tell a story. I enjoy scrapbooking and making unique gifts for my family and friends. I love art museums. Grandchildren & the ocean are my bliss. Living in the moment and not taking life too seriously are things I learned late in life.
