| Introduction | Before I could read, I pretended to read. As soon as I learned, I read everything I could get my hands on, sometimes reading three chapter books a day. My love for children's and young adult literature continued into my adult years. I worked in a middle school library, taught high school English, read all the Newbery winning books, got a degree in English Literature, and regularly read to my three children. |
