Introduction	Udupi, a newborn district of Karnataka state, carved out of D.K. District, came into existence on 25-08-1997. The district police is headed by the District Superintendent of Police assisted by an Additional Supdt of Police and comprises of a District police Headquarter and District Armed reserve at Udupi, and Civil Police staff spread over 22 police stations in the entire district.
