Introduction	First, what I’m not. It will soon become obvious I am not a machinist, an engineer or even a very accomplished woodworker. I’m a retired college biology professor with a 30+ year love of old tools. In addition to dividers and calipers I have an “appreciation” for 18th century tools, measuring and marking devices and what’s its. When not involved with tools I’m an avid birder, naturalist and amateur genealogist.
