Introduction	The fig was root bound in its pot, I wandered through the conference center, with bill-board posters of flowers in bloom. I held onto the potted fig. I walked out into the courtyard, away from the building, and over next to a tool shed and there I planted the fig, its roots twisted around eachother. There were actually two figs bound together in one pot. Carefully I plied them apart, but planted them together. The sun so yellow and warm, the air quiet.
