About me

Introduction I was born in Titusville Florida sometime shortly after the invention of the wheel. I attended college at the University of Central Florida and graduated in 1993 with a BS (you'd think they would've changed that acronym by now!) in Electrical Engineering. I was sick of technical stuff when I graduated and wanted to do other things for awhile, so I worked in a YMCA daycare for 9 months or so after college. This was followed by a stint with the ALERT program in the Michigan upper peninsula for about 15 months. Then on to CA where I (eventually) married my wonderful young wife in 2004, and now have 3 kids as well. Through all my life I have been driven by a desire to know truth - and of course this pursuit is successful only if it leads to God. I am grateful that He has never let me believe that truth and purpose can ever be found anywhere else.

Favorite Movies Not all of these movies are ones I would recommend but I liked them nonetheless for one specific reason or another., Chariots of Fire remains probably my favorite overall - one of the VERY few mainstream movies that treats true Christianity with respect., I like a lot of the old war movies - 12 O'clock High remains one of my all-time favorites., The Star Wars movies would certainly make the list - the first ones really captured my imagination as a kid., I loved the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and enjoyed the recent Narnia movie., Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, The Matrix Trilogy, Les Miserables, The Four Feathers (old TV version), Henry V, Black Hawk Down, Equilibrium, Fiddler on the Roof, The Seven Samurai, The Incredibles, A Man for All Seasons, Ken Burns Civil War Documentary, David Copperfield (BBC), A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim), To Kill a Mockingbird, Friendly Persuasion
Favorite Music Various kinds - but not rap/jazz/modern classical., I like quite a few pieces by JS Bach and Handel (especially Messiah) as well as other baroque composers., I enjoy Celtic music - including some of Enya's songs., A good relaxing piano piece is a winner too., I love the sound of the flute - particularly playing a harmony line., I enjoy bluegrass (for awhile) and even country (for a short while)., As far as the rock genre goes I love the sound of the first Boston album although I have not allowed myself to keep secular stuff - too much anti-Christian content., I have long been a big fan of the early Petra albums as well as a couple of the older albums by DeGarmo and Key., I'm not particularly fond of the modern "praise and worship" stuff although a few songs have grown on me a little., As far as individual melodies go - I love Scarborough Fair (Simon & Garfunkel); Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach); Sheep May Safely Graze (Bach)
