| Introduction | Phruishun (aka Tony Spires) is a multi-disciplinary artist: Poet-Spoken Word-Lyrics&Groove Artist/Filmmaker/Theatre Artist/Musician/Youth Arts Educator & Producer/Comedy Festival Producer/Columnist. An “Artivist”(artist/activist), his debut album is “PARADIGM SHIFT” a powerful Spoken Word and Contemporary Music project. PARADIGM SHIFT fuses the mediums of poetry/spoken word and singing, on a politically-charged canvas of R&B, Hip Hop and Jazz, which he calls “Lyrics&Groove.” The perspective is spiritual, inspirational, motivational, critical, political, topical and historical. The 16 tracks are powered by Phruishun’s unique grasp of the language, his progressive musical sensibilities and his fiery passion for the equality of his people. “PARADIGM SHIFT “speaks directly to the times. |
