| Introduction | There is magic in beading. When I pick up the needle, then touch the tiny, colored bead, the magic begins. From there, the magic seems to travel through the needle, then through the thread and into the point of my thumb and forefinger. Beading is like a magic dance of bead, fingers, arms, shoulders and mind. I use the magic of beading to help myself relax and meditate. I’ve heard other people say that beading helps them escape. Beading gives me a break from the pain from my heart bypass. Healing your heart is like beadwork! When I start a new piece, I don’t just start beading. I first make a plan of what I want the piece to look like. I can do that with my recovery! I can make a plan to make something beautiful of the remainder of my life. Beading slows down my mind, so I can listen to my heart, and feel at peace. Beading has become a constant in my life. While on my journey of healing, I found that the beading has helped me to escape the limitations of my body. There are no limitations to creativity and imagination. My mind wanders, and my mind and heart opens up. I pause to listen to my inner thoughts. When I bead, I am able to solve problems. Beading brings answers. |
