| Introduction | In the fall of 2015 I started running, on a bet that I wouldn't run in the Vancouver Marathon. I didn't want it to be a New Year's resolution, so Boxing Day, I started training for the half marathon in Vancouver. May 1, that race was in the book with a finish time of 2:01:32. Then I was on the quest to finish a half marathon sub 2 hrs.... The Edmonton Marathon could have been the moment, except I made a math error and miscalculated my time. (10 km is not 1/2 of 21km.....) I finished in 2:06:47.... By the end of the year, I had raced 76 km. In 2017, I completed my first road marathon in Calgary. Then I started running the trails while I trained for the three day, 85 km, Golden Ultra. It was a busy summer of training, but it all paid off in September when I completed my first ultra on day two of the race, by running 60 kilometres in just over 11 hrs 30 minutes. My goals for 2018 are going to push me a bit more. I have two trail marathons booked for May, and my final go of the summer is to complete the 125 km Canadian Death Race!!
