Introduction	Lesa R. Walker, MD, MPH, has worked in state government in Texas, serving children with special needs and their families, from May, 1986 through August, 2010. She currently works as a medical consultant and advocate on issues pertaining to children and youth with disabilities. She works to mobilize ideas and actions at the grassroots level (in individuals of all ages, groups, and communities) to promote world health, green-living, and peace.
