| Introduction | When Michelangelo first began chiseling and sculpting the eighteen-foot masterpiece David, he first saw the Immagine Del Cuore or the image of the heart. To the normal eye it was a giant cut up piece of marble, but to Michelangelo he saw that David was already in that marble and was just waiting to break out. He saw the beauty of what could be. So instead of molding it to look like some other person; he simply chipped off what didn’t belong until all that was left was the masterpiece that now sits in Florence, Italy. This is the journey of chipping away that which doesn't serve me to allow my immagine del cuore shine. |
