| Introduction | I'm a happy tourist-cum-traveller once I've been winkled out of my cosy at-home shell. And then I'm a culture-vulture and landscape lion. I'm particularly interested in old churches, especially the Norman churches of which we in Britain have thousands, for which I am grateful. And by contrast I also love the bright light of sunny Mediterranean countries. I owned a Nikon FE2 film camera then moved through a few very capable compact cameras, before getting the Nikon DSLR bug, and bought a D200 then a D300. I sold these and all my old camera equipment after I felt guilty it wasn't being used. And after I realized photography demands some solid hard work. Regretted selling the gear ever since. Bought a Canon G10 for its raw file capability and loved it, took it to Spain for this Andalusia trip - and sold it afterwards for no real reason I can think of. Now I'm looking to buy it all back in again - maybe taking the move to a Canon DSLR simply because the resolution their equivalent models offer outshines that of the Nikons. And yes, I know resolution is not everything, but I love all the bells and whistles. All the knobs and dials and secret menu options and manuals. Lovely! |
