Introduction Father Rego was the founder of St. Gianna’s Latin Mass Community in Tucson, AZ. Previously, he served at Immaculate Conception Church in Ajo, AZ.  Born in Philadelphia, he attended the Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic School and Southeast Catholic High. At the age of 18, he entered the seminary and remained for four years. Then he took a leave of absence for personal reasons. This lasted for twenty years, a length of time that he never anticipated.  But he never lost sight of the Priesthood and after some time in the business world, he entered Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Ct. There he completed his studies and received a B.A. and Master of Divinity Degree. On June 4, 1983, at the age of 48, he was ordained to the Priesthood for the Diocese of Tucson. After several years of parish work,  he attended the Angelicum Pontifical University and earned an S.T.L. Then he completed two years at the John Paul II institute for the Study of Marriage.
