| Introduction | I have been involved in art for as long as I can remember. I was one of those children who, covered in paint after what I thought then was hours of creative brilliance, would leave colorful hand prints stamped to the underside of our kitchen table. Though my parents didn’t take to this particular form of self-expression, they always encouraged me to do what made me happy. This unwavering passion followed me through high school, led me to pursue a degree in art, and ultimately establish a career as a full time studio artist. My current work has taken on several forms. I have found that I enjoy varying both the materials and the techniques I use. These changes allow me to adapt my work to my particular mood. Some days I feel quiet and focused and therefore I work on some of the smaller forms that require full attention and meticulous detail. Other days, I need to be moving around, so I work with processes that are larger and more uninhibited. |
