| Introduction | This blog is published under the guidance and control of Stephanie Bayless, Archivist and Assistant Manager, Manuscripts Division at the Butler Center, with contributions from other willing staff members. It is set up to be a new avenue to encourage discussion between the Butler Center, other historical professionals, and our patrons out there in the blogosphere. The Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, a department of the Central Arkansas Library System, was created in 1997 through an endowment by the late Richard C. Butler, Sr., of Little Rock, for the purpose of promoting a greater understanding and appreciation of Arkansas history, literature, art, and culture. We maintain a research library and archival collection in the Arkansas Studies Institute building in downtown Little Rock’s River Market District. |
