Favorite Movies	I hated this question in film school. It made me sweat on dates, and made me worry when trying to answer with new friends. I still have issues with it. Collect my responses from different days, and you may get a seeming incongruous set of answers. Because, as you know, fill in the blank answers are at best a thumbnail sketch. The real dirt is when you ask "why?" But, let's take a stab: Sunrise, Excalibur, Ran, Wings of Desire, Bedknobs & Broomsticks, Jane Campion short films, Hold That Ghost, The Shining, Sherlock Jr, All About Eve, Slapshot, Grand Hotel, All That Jazz, Cool Hand Luke, Night of the Hunter, Ice Castles, The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, Nosferatu, Ohayu, It's Complicated, My Neighbor Totoro, Duck Soup, L'Atalante.
Favorite Music	If it's good, I'll like it. If it's jazz, classical, or pop, it'll be more in my familiar zone, that's all.
Favorite Books	See the caveat for movies. Over the years, they have included: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Member of the Wedding, Hiroshima, Hiroshima, Mon Amour, The Tin Drum, A Room of One's Own, pick a Swedish murder mystery.
