| Introduction | My name is Brian Michon. I paint mainly figurative and portraiture, but do some landscapes as well. I was born and raised in Geraldton Ontario. I obtained a diploma in Graphic Design (1996) and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art Studies (1998) while living in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. I relocated to Toronto in 2000 where I obtained a diploma in Digital Media Design after which i was employed in the Sign Industry for 13 plus years. In 2013 I moved back to Geraldton to become a caregiver to both my parents, Lloyd and Elsie. I was afforded more time to paint and began putting together a body of work, where I started to paint under the moniker Blackbird Visionary which focused on Canadian Indigenous Figurative work. I divide my time between portraiture and Indigenous figurative. |
