| Introduction | I'm a native Californian, born in the Southland, raised in the Bay Area, and now living in the Northstate. I come from first-generation Irish-Americans of the Boston variety from whom I inherited a serious word jones. If I'm not reading books, stories, articles and assorted scraps, I'm composing my own. My greatest fear is that the State Teachers Retirement System will go bankrupt before I can collect my 30-year pension. (Update 7/2/14: Got my first check!!) That, and the San Francicso Giants will win the World Series only after my death. (Update 11/1/10: no more waiting!!! Giants are World Champs!!!) |
