About me

Gender Male
Occupation Retired Bureaucrat/Current Author
Location United States
Introduction Majored in philosophy but chose not to pursue it after marrying a local girl and settling down to begin what turned out to be an abortive writing career due to the impending birth of our first child. When my wife told me to get serious about earning a living, since artists in garrets didn't cut it anymore, I took her seriously and began a laborious climb up the ladder of local government. After some intense years, culminating in the response to the terror attacks of 9/11, I decided to call it quits as a bureaucrat when an historical novel I'd written (about Vikings and Indians in eleventh century North America) began to catch on. "Maybe I should have stuck with the writing, after all," I told my significant other and she reluctantly accepted my early retirement decision. I've since coordinated a Viking ship event in NYC Harbor and two back to back literary events bringing writers, readers and publishers together in the Gateway National Recreation Area. I've also written and edited other books and am currently on a new one. (Photo is by my grandson, age 6 or 7 at the time, explaining the odd upward angle.)
