| Introduction | Mining with a Feather Mining best describes what I do when I am writing or painting. A feather captures the gentle process of slow writing (with the quill end) and slow painting (with the feathered end). When possible, I enjoy helping others discover the delight of writing what comes up when I convince them to trust the process. I love seeing the transformation (towards health and vitality) that happens when illusive emotions and memories are captured in words and laid out on paper giving distance and perspective to the writer. My task when inviting others into the process is convincing them that Writing With a Feather is not about grammar or punctuation, but about discovery and transformation. I love participating in freeing others from repeating the stories that have hurt them by imagining redemptive chapters. It's one of the most rewarding things I do as an artist and writer. It takes courage and a safe place. I provide the instruction and a venue but courage is the thing that builds as participants respond to images and word prompts. I earned my MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. |

Looking back, how would you rewrite regretful stories so that you and those you love come out as winners?
