| Introduction | I am married with two children and two Beagles. As a working mom, I make sure to find time to make my home a sanctuary. I am passionate about growing, cooking, and eating good food. I am an amateur chef who has been interested in cooking since I was a child and observed my mother and grandmothers. They never used a recipe for their delicious family dishes. One of my grandmothers was an interior designer and I inherited a love of creating beautiful spaces from her. My approach to DIY home decor is making aesthetically pleasing and functional pieces. Every piece has a purpose while fitting the vibe of the surroundings. My husband and I share a love of gardening, growing tomatoes among other fruits and vegetables annually from seeds his grandfather brought from Italy. In 2007, I was a winner in the Locally Grown recipe contest in NY sponsored by The Journal News (www.lohud.com/locallygrown), MyPersonalFarmers.com, RNN TV and the Valley Restaurant. My winning recipe, Ratatouille Pizza, was developed as a way to get my family to eat lots of fresh, local vegetables. I have written about food and cooking for The Examiner News and The Journal News in Westchester, NY. |
