| Introduction | Born in New York, Joe graduated from Hofstra University with an honors degree in Drama & Literature. He lived in Amsterdam, The Netherlands for 17 years and now lives in California. Joe brings a wealth of insight to his work based on many teachings, including Tai Chi Chuan, Tibetan Buddhism and various spiritual traditions—plus his international experience in theater and various organizational trainings, as well as massage and body work. Joe is the founder of Heartwalker Studio in Oakland, California, a meeting place for nurturing, empowered community, designed to integrate spirituality into all aspects of life – relationships, work, society, politics, and the body. As initiator of the Heartwalker Peace Project, Joe connects with others in numerous cities around the world who share similar views on peace and activism. He is a volunteer for the Liberation Prison Project, teaching Buddhism to inmates. |
