Introduction | Ray Cunneff was born in New York City, the first of four children of Broadway musical performers. His parents were both in the original Broadway cast of “Oklahoma!”. His father went on to a 27-year career at NBC television, his mother moved from dancing to teaching dance. Ray began his career as an NBC page, toured Europe with NBC TV's "International Showtime with Don Ameche", studied theater arts under Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse, then (interrupted by a tour of duty in the US Army) began a fourteen-year career at CBS television, starting as a Program Coordinator in New York, finishing as an Executive Producer in Los Angeles. He went on to a thirteen-year career as a motion picture and television writer. He has two produced feature films and was nominated for a Writers Guild award for an episode of “The Waltons”. Moving to the Antelope Valley, Ray worked in local radio, first in sales administration, then as a Program Director, on-air deejay, and news-talk show host. He lives in Palmdale, California with his wife and son. |
