About me

Introduction	Jeong Won-Gi is a republic of Korea artist. He is active in various fields such as composer, musical director, and producer, building a unique artistic world. Since his fieldwork in Jeju Island in 2018, he has been creating works based on his field experiences that translate the memories of community life through singing. The value of heritage that he focuses on is the lives of people, which covers the principles of culture generation and creative transmission. Currently, he is fieldworking on the Korean Peninsula, the Japanese mainland, and the Yaeyama Islands, based in Jeju. In 2024, he will focus on the sonic narratives of East Asia's southern oceanic cultures with the theme "Songs sung by people for people”.
