Introduction	I have been getting my state pension for a few months now and find it most exciting. Being female I don't have any other pension. This is not because I never worked. On the contrary, I am a doctor and a mother and a sculptor, but my husband's career always came first and so the work I did was never of a pensionable sort. It does mean that my husband gets a good pension, so in these difficult times we are very very lucky and count our blessings every day.
